Service Description |
In previous years, the school dental van, located at Coburn Primary School has provided public dental services for preschool aged children, primary school aged children from prep to grade 6, and children in years 7 and 8 whose parents hold a current concession or health care card. The dental van will cease operation at the primary school in November 2010, and will be provided from a 12 chair purpose built facility attached to Melton Health. The service at Melton Health from early 2011 will also extend to servicing eligible teenagers and adults who require conservative treatment (on natural teeth) and prosthetic treatment (e.g. dentures). The dental service will also assist with dental emergencies. DjHS will partner with La Trobe University to provide ten chairs for teaching purposes, and eligible patients will have the option of seeing a qualified dentist or a student dentist. |
