Service Description

The Financial Counsellor provides professional counselling, information and advocacy in the areas of debt control/management as well as the provision of information regarding options available to financial counselling clients.

The main target group for this service, which operates five days per week, is people on low incomes. People who present with financial difficulties are assessed and assisted on the basis of need.

The Financial Counsellor also offers group education sessions and consultancy to workers from other agencies and organisations.

Eligibility

All residents of Melton and Moorabool Shires.

Access hours

9.00am-5.00pm.

Enquiries and appointment bookings are provided through the Duty System, 0900 – 1700 hrs Monday to Friday.

Self-referral or from General Practitioner and other professionals working within the community
