Service Description

The Audiology Clinic is undertaken using a "sub-contractor" model to provide hearing assessments for children less than 17 years of age. We give priority to infants referred to us by the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Programme (VIHSP), children whom have been referred to us by an Ear Nose and Throat specialist, as well as children with developmental delays, other disabilities, or who otherwise require a hearing assessment. These services are provided free under the Melton Health public system.

Other private services offered include; Audiological evaluations for all age groups, diagnostic screening audiometry for industrial, aviation and police assessments.  Workcover assessments, hearing aid fittings or evaluation, ear moulds, tinnitus management, free hearing assessments and hearing aids for eligible pensioners and DVA clients. Swim plugs, noise plugs and musician earplugs can also be fitted.

Eligibility

Referrals for paediatric Audiology (<17 years) accepted from doctors, hospitals and maternal Child Health Nurses (public consultation)

Both referrals from health professionals and self-referral accepted for adults (fee-for-service consultation)

Access hours

Public Sessions: Monday and Tuesday between 9.00am and 4.30pm

Private Sessions: As arranged Wednesday - Friday

Cost to client

Nil for public patients through Melton Health (<17).

Fee for service provided through Hearlink for all children and adult consultations other than for eligible pensioners and DVA clients who receive free hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings/evaluations.
