Performance Indicators
Every month internal performance indicators are collected from all areas of the Hospital. These indicators, or statistics, cover a wide range of care that the Health Service provides, including:
- number of patients admitted to hospital and discharged
- average length of stay for people admitted to hospital
- number of operations
- number of births
- number of x-rays taken
These indicators are reported to the Board with any relevant comments made. Some of the comments made in the last few months include:
- ‘Hospital in the Home numbers were at an annual high this month with 11.9% of discharges from hospital being treated under this program at home’
- ‘Emergency Services presentations now appear to be plateauing with around 6000 presentations for the year’
- ‘Length of stay in all areas continues to fall in line with industry trends’
