The Board has a strong belief in the capabilities of its executive team, service managers and staff and, while it sets the strategic directions, it delegates the operational day to day management of resources to professional and appropriately trained staff. The Board, however, expects and receives performance indicators against Key Result areas and objectives.
The Board has articulated its Mission and Vision, with an emphasis placed on healthcare services. Our achievements have been significant, many of which are detailed below.
Operational Plan 2005/2006
In the Operational Plan for 2005/2006, the Board identified Key Result Areas where DjHS needed to focus its efforts in the year 2005/2006. Although not all predicted outcomes have been achieved, the majority have. The initial objectives included the following:
1
Expand the depth and breadth of core Primary Care Services to the community of Melton and Moorabool
2
Deliver services which meet the needs of our community, resulting in increasing levels of patient/client satisfaction
3
Establish pre-eminence in service delivery, reflected increasing recognition of service quality by the community and stakeholders
4
Provide a working environment that fosters staff commitment and work satisfaction
5
Increase the efficiency of service delivery, resulting in cost effective cost structures and maximised revenue streams
6
Increase the market penetration of our service delivery particularly within the Melton Shire with an emphasis on community consultation
7
Pursue sound financial management including operational risk management, business planning and pursuit of a quality improvement culture
