Service Description |
Patients with a surgical booking are contacted by phone for health assessment, anaesthetic risk assessment and discharge planning. Pre Admission Clinic staff use the patients health questionnaire as a guide and the patient may be booked into the clinic for an appointment with the Pre-admission Clinic nurse/anaesthetist. Referrals to other services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy and discharge planner. During a clinic visit patients may have ECG’s, blood tests, routine observations including height and weight. Anti-embolitic stockings are fitted in Pre Admission Clinic. |

Cost to client |
Nil charge for assessment. ECG’s, blood tests, medical practitioner fees are all bulk billed. Antiembolitic stockings cost $10.00 or $20.00 a pair. |
