Service Description	The Maternity Unit provides care of any public or private family who chooses to come to Djerriwarrh Health Services. The services available are: Childbirth education classes Shared care between local doctors and a doctor with hospital visiting rights Midwife Care at maternity@melton Highly skilled and caring midwives and doctors Births attended mostly by the midwives in a relaxed, friendly environment Obstetrician and paediatrician available on call Referral for lactation support @ home Comprehensive education and counselling following birth Follow up visits at home Day stay program for parenting and feeding issues Specialist Obstetrician, Senior Medical Officers – Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Practitioners with Graduate Diploma in Obstetrics provide 24 hours obstetric cover for the unit. Eligibility	Low risk pregnancy of more than 34 weeks gestation.
Access hours	24 hours
Referral process	Self referral, GP or a local Medical Practitioner to anti natal Clinic or an obstetric with visiting rights.
Cost to client	Antenatal care charged by General Practitioner Public Patient via anti natal clinic.
