Service Description

Day Medical provides a same-day in-patient service for the administration of chemotherapy, blood products and other treatments that can safely be infused in a day setting. Day Medical is staffed by Oncologists and Registered Nurses trained in the administration of cytotoxic agents. The unit is also supported by Allied Health staff and Patient Services Assistants employed at Melton Health.

Eligibility

Patients requiring chemotherapy or blood and blood product transfusions and iron transfusions

Access hours

Tuesday to Thursday between 9.00am to 5.00pm

Referral process

Referrals accepted by General Practitioners, Medical Specialists or other hospitals
